Joseph Charles

Mr. Joseph Charles is the Founder and Executive Director of Grace Alternative to Incarceration Inc, a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting Brooklyn, NY underserved youth throughout the tri-state to become college bound scholars, providing workshops and involving our youth a chance to help out their communities.
Joseph Charles was brought up in a Haitian household where education was very important and after graduating from high school, Charles obtained his Bachelor's degree from Berkeley College, completed his Masters of Accountancy from University of Phoenix, Master's in Psychology and Doctorate degree in Psychology.
There is a great population of crime, social and economic issues in many Brooklyn, NY neighborhoods; many minority youth are incarcerated or victims of the city’s senseless violence. With Charles own personal encounter with life’s unfortunate circumstances and understanding the importance of education it is his desire to take part and strive for a change for the youth.
After years of contemplation and having the goal of launching a non-profit organization benefiting his East Flatbush and Brownsville communities , Grace Alternative to Incarceration was founded in 2014. In April of 2020, the organization became a fully formed 501(C)(3).
