Empowering youth is essential for creating a future. By providing them with the tools, resources, and support they need, we can inspire the next generation to reach their full potential. Together, we can foster a culture of innovation, resilience, and leadership among young people. Let's invest in their dreams and watch as they shape a better world for all of us.

About us

Grace Alternative to Incarceration Inc. is a nonprofit organization that offers more just mentoring programs for middle and high school students in New York City. Our initiative aims to forge partnerships with community school districts and the juvenile court system.
The mission of Grace Alternative to Incarceration is to instill a sense of commitment to young people, fostering pro-social behavior, strong interpersonal skills, and a renewed sense of hope for the future. In low-income cities, our educators have witnessed repeated challenges in the classroom and the emergence of harmful habits, as youth often lose faith in their potential for success. To address this, it is essential that our young scholars are placed in nurturing, inclusive learning environments that encourage their best efforts, set high expectations, and promote personal respect.
Grace Alternative to Incarceration Inc. is dedicated to breaking down barriers for the growing number of middle and high school students are either struggling in school or already involved with the juvenile court system. Our objective is to identify scholars facing a difficult transition to adulthood and provide a supportive framework to help them avoid life's pitfalls. While the focus may vary at different educational levels, the ultimate goal the same: to empower young individuals to enact positive changes in their lives.
Our program offers youth a second chance, allowing them to relocate to new cities for a fresh start instead of returning to communities plagued by dealing, theft, vandalism, and other crimes. Grace Alternative to Incarceration Inc. primarily targets middle and high school students, as it is projected that 75% of students will encounter the juvenile court system within their first three years of middle school. This age group is particularly vulnerable, making it an ideal time for effective mentoring.
